New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick

Bill Belichick holds a record in the NFL history books. He is the only head coach to take his team to three Super Bowl wins. He also made records coaching the Patriots (his team) to a 16-0 regular season. During his second season as Patriots head coach in 2001, Belichick took the Patriots to their first league title win with a dramatic victory in Super Bowl XXXVI. Since that great game, Coach Belichick has coached the Patriots all the way to the Super Bowl four times and claimed five straight division championships. His coaching career began after graduating from Wesleyan University and accepting a staff assistant position with the Baltimore Colts in 1975.

Since then, this NFL coach has had a very successful career in football. In fact, Coach Belichick earned NFL Coach of the Year honors in 2007 when the Patriots became the fourth team in NFL's 88-year history to have an undefeated season. They were also the first to meet this record since the NFL increased the number of regular-season games to 16 back in 1978. Belichick has led the Patriots to nine or more victories in each of the last seven seasons.

Bill Belichick's amazing coaching skills have placed him among the best of the best in NFL history. Belichick has led the Patriots to an 86-26 (.768) regular-season record since 2001, which is the best in the NFL over that period. Belichick's 15 career playoff wins rank fifth all-time.

Over the course of Belichick's football career, he has helped produce five Super Bowl titles, seven conference championships and 13 division titles since entering the NFL in 1975. Belichick's impact on his team back in 1996 was dramatic. When he joined the Patriots after five seasons as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, the Patriots claimed their first division title in 10 years!

NFL chickened out with only a fine for Lions' Ndamukong Suh
The NFL ideal of "controlled aggression" is an oxymoron, kind of like the term "working press." There's no such thing as savagery with limits. Defensive linemen are trained to attack the quarterback like a starving dog pouncing on red meat.
