New York Giants Head Coach Tom Coughlin

Tom Coughlin Was hired as the 16th head coach in Giants history back in January of 2004. Couglin coached the New York Giants to an 11-5 record that NFL season. He also headed up a run for the NFC East title and took his team to the playoffs in 2005, which was only his second season with the Giants. He coached his team to a dramatic Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots, a story he writes about in his new book titled "A Team to Believe In." It has been reported by Yahoo Sports that the Giants Coach Coughlin has signed a 4-year, $21 million extension. That would make him one of the NFL's highest-paid coaches!

The Giants Head Coach has an extensive coaching history. He was the inaugural head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars in Florida and had great success. In eight seasons there, he made his team the most successful expansion team in league history.

Coughlin held the position of head coach at Boston College from 1991-1993, where he posted a 21-13-1 record. In 1969 and 1974-1980 Coughlin coached at Syracuse. The he coached the team at the Rochester Institute of Technology from 1970-1973, and Boston College from 1981-1983. Coughlin was mentored by Bill Parcells while Coughlin was the wide receivers coach and Parcells was the head coach for the New York Giants.

Tom and his wife Judy, have two daughters, Keli and Katie, two sons, Brian and Tim, a daughter-in-law, Andrea (Tim's wife), and two grandchildren, Emma Rose and Dylan.

NFL Teams Cut Rosters; Some Gators Affected
NFL teams have to get their rosters down to 53 teams before the start of the season this week and the cuts made did affect some former Gator football players. The Buffalo Bills cut wide receiver Chad Jackson and the St.Louis Rams cut offensive lineman Drew Miller but they did sign him to their practice squad.
